Guam Solid Waste Authority Announces Plan to Resume Monday Residential Trash Collection Beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Tamuning, Guam — July 6, 2026 — The Guam Solid Waste Authority (GSWA) advises customers that management plans to resume Monday residential trash collection on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

The GSWA Administrative Office will resume operations within two (2) hours after the Governor of Guam officially declares Condition of Readiness (COR) 4.

This operational plan is intended to restore essential solid waste collection services as quickly and safely as possible following the passage of severe weather. Collection crews will begin servicing Monday residential trash routes once road conditions have been assessed, equipment has been inspected, and it is safe for employees to operate.

To accommodate the service interruption, Tuesday residential collection will be serviced on Wednesday, Wednesday collection will be serviced on Thursday, Thursday collection will be serviced on Friday, and Friday collection will be serviced on Saturday. GSWA will follow this adjusted schedule for the remainder of the week to complete all residential collection routes.

Residents are encouraged to place their trash carts at the curb as soon as practical to ensure they are ready for collection. Customers should be aware that collection times may vary from their normal schedules due to typhoon-related conditions, debris, and traffic delays.
