Hafa Adai Childcare Employees,
As Guam’s regulated child care employers continue to experience unprecedented staffing challenges and stability in the industry, the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS), in partnership with the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA), has continued to develop programs that provide financial support and sustainability for child care organizations. The Governor’s Workforce Retention Program provides incentive payments to eligible child care staff that empower child care programs to remain open and support ongoing employment in the child care workforce.
The retention grants are available to payrolled employees that work for an active licensed child care facility and a registered Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Provider on Guam. The employee must work in an eligible position on a continuous basis, whether full-time or part-time, and meet the program criteria for a lump sum workforce retention grant (please see Childcare Workforce Retention Bonus Program Fact Sheet for complete reference).
Deadline for this retention grant has now been extended to March 3, 2023, no later than 11:59pm and is subject to the availability of funds.
Please submit all completed applications or questions regarding the program via email to caps2022@investguam.com. Applications that are hand delivered to GEDA’s office will not be reviewed until the next business day. Email submissions are highly encouraged.
